Greetings.
St. Matthews and the Rockingham Church are community oriented churches, located in Sandown and Plaistow, NH, respectively, ministering to persons of all ages, race, and condition. We gather together for family worship built on the cornerstones of Strong Biblical Preaching, prayer, and a vibrant Music Ministry. We also seek to share God's love through a variety of ministries.
These ministries offer a balance of inward focus for personal spiritual growth, and outreach to meet the needs of our community and our world. We believe that as followers of Christ, we are called to share the Good News in both word and deed!

What you can find at St. Matts & The Rock?

If you are new or unfamiliar with our ministry, we want to let you know what we offer here on a Sunday morning.
Before and after worship, enjoy some fellowship, a fresh brewed cup of coffee, and a time for prayer with our prayer team. We also have a nursery for infants up to age 4 that is available during worship.
There is a Library that offers you an opportunity to check out a great selection of reading and tapes.
At the Welcome Table you can find information on the church and all of its ministries.

What we Believe

The Trinity We believe in God; Father, Son and Holy Spirit

The Christ We believe that Jesus was the Son of God, born of the virgin Mary. We believe that He was fully God and fully man.

The Resurrection of Christ We believe that Christ died upon the cross for our sins, was laid in the tomb, and on the third day rose from the dead.

The Bible We believe that the Bible is God’s inspired Word. We believe that all we need for salvation is found in the Holy Scriptures of the Bible

Free Will We believe that all people are created with free will. While we seek God’s guidance and direction for our lives, God does not determine our actions. We are free to make our own decisions, and are responsible for our actions. This free will includes the ability to accept or reject Christ.

Salvation by Faith Alone We are saved by grace through faith in Christ. No amount of good works can save us.

Good Works Having accepted Christ, we will want to express our faith by good works. However, these good works are not a means to salvation.

Sanctification The first step in our faith journey is to as Lord and Savior. This first step is often called “Justification”. Following this first step, we begin a lifelong process of becoming more Christ like. This process is called Sanctification.

Ministry of All Believers We are all gifted by God, and each of us has a calling to be a part of the work of Christ and His church. Therefore, we are all ministers of the Gospel.
