Hackberry 2008 is dedicated to the memory of Daniel K. Hendershot, a member of Hackberry 2006 and 2007 Daniel, 19, died Thursday evening, Feb. 14, 2008, in a motor vehicle accident in Hampstead, N.H. Born in Lawrence, son of Kenneth C. and Elizabeth A. (Dyer) Hendershot of Sandown, he had lived in Sandown all of his life. He attended the Sandown Central School and was a member of the Timberlane Regional High School, Class of 2007. He was scheduled to attend Allied Transportation School this year. A member of St. Matthew's United Methodist Church of Sandown, he had completed two missionary trips to Hackberry, La., helping to rebuild homes destroyed by Hurricane Katrina. Daniel had played freshman soccer at Timberlane Regional High School and was a long-time member of the Timberwolves Youth Soccer Program. He enjoyed animals and working on his car.
