Welcome
to St. Matthews and The Rockingham Church
where our doors are wide open to people from all backgrounds.
St. Matthews and the Rockingham Church are community
oriented churches, located in Sandown and Plaistow,
NH, respectively, ministering to persons of all ages,
race, and condition. We gather together for family
worship built on the cornerstones of Strong Biblical
Preaching, prayer, and a vibrant Music
Ministry. We also seek to share God's love through
a variety of ministries.
These ministries offer a balance of inward focus
for personal spiritual growth, and outreach to meet
the needs of our community and our world. We believe
that as followers of Christ, we are called to share
the Good News in both word and deed!
What many people notice right away is the hospitality
they experience the moment they enter the Churches.
Once you are around St. Matts or The Rock for any
amount of time, you’ll find that we focus on
relationships. We believe in the power of personal
relationships – through devotional groups, life
groups, one-on-one relationships, and more! If you’d
like to develop authentic, genuine and lifelong relationships
with others, then you’ll be glad to know that
new groups are forming all the time.

Our Churches are founded solidly on
two key Biblical passages:
The Great Commission
~ "Go and make disciples of all
nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father
and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit".
(Matthew 28:19)
The
Great Commandment ~ “Love
the Lord your God with all your heart and soul, mind
and strength, and love your neighbor as yourself".
(Mark 12:30-31)
Based on these
two foundational teachings, this is a place
where people can find new life in Christ, can
express their love for God in worship, and their
love for neighbors through service.
Our worship service at St. Matthews is traditional
format. The services at the Rock are casual
and upbeat. The music at The Rock is lead by
the Praise Team. Our Pastor's teachings help
you apply the wisdom of Scripture to your daily
life. Our Churches are family friendly where
children are welcome.
So whether you’re a spiritual seeker
who’s just investigating and asking questions
about God, or a committed Christ follower who
wants to sink the roots of your faith even deeper,
you can find a home here St. Matthews or The
Rockingham Church..
You’ll find that this is a place where
you really matter — because you matter
to God. |

What
we Believe
The Trinity We believe in
God; Father, Son and Holy Spirit
The Christ We believe that
Jesus was the Son of God, born of the virgin
Mary. We believe that He was fully God and
fully man.
The Resurrection of Christ
We believe that Christ died upon the cross
for our sins, was laid in the tomb, and
on the third day rose from the dead.
The Bible We believe that
the Bible is Gods inspired Word. We
believe that all we need for salvation is
found in the Holy Scriptures of the Bible
Free Will We believe that
all people are created with free will. While
we seek Gods guidance and direction
for our lives, God does not determine our
actions. We are free to make our own decisions,
and are responsible for our actions. This
free will includes the ability to accept
or reject Christ.
Salvation by Faith Alone We
are saved by grace through faith in Christ.
No amount of good works can save us.
Good Works Having accepted
Christ, we will want to express our faith
by good works. However, these good works
are not a means to salvation.
Sanctification The first step
in our faith journey is to as Lord and Savior.
This first step is often called Justification.
Following this first step, we begin a lifelong
process of becoming more Christ like. This
process is called Sanctification.
Ministry of All Believers
We are all gifted by God, and each of us
has a calling to be a part of the work of
Christ and His church. Therefore, we are
all ministers of the Gospel. |
